1) Where can I find audio/video elements to use for this video?

2) Can I
use other content besides what you have offered to me in this website?
Yes, you can use anything you'd like as long as you stay within the video contest's agreement and rules. Make sure you have the rights to the footage that you use.
3) Who owns my video after I submit it to this video contest?
When you enter your video, you are agreeing to allow Iris Records, llc and Carly Simon to have certain exclusive rights to your submission set forth in the Official Rules and Submission Agreement. Remember, Iris Records, llc and Carly Simon own all the footage that you download from our contest assets page (downloads page), so you do not own any commercial rights to your submission.
4) What is the Grand Prize?
The Grand Prize Winner will win $10,000, have their video premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2010, Featured on AOL Music and will be given the opportunity to meet Carly.
5) What programs do you recommend I use to create this video?
There are several ways to make and edit a video but to help you with some freeware tips, we can recommend some studio software like VirtualDub, or iMovie.
There are also software solutions that you have to pay for like Final Cut Pro, Adobe After Effects, Adobe Photoshop, and many others.
You can also check video forums for advice on what software other video editors are using.
6) What do I do with the green screen footage and how do I edit it?
On most editing software there is a plugin called a Chroma Key. You can search for these online and here are 2 links to free or very cheap Chroma Key's too.
most video software has Chroma Key plugin's included. The idea is to highlight the green area of the "Green Screen footage" and basically make it transparent so you place other backgrounds or images that you like in it's place.
7) Will Iris Records, llc and Carly Simon have total ownership over my video if I'm a finalist and accept a prize?
Yes, in that case, by accepting the final prizes from Iris Records, llc, you sell them all rights to use your video.
8) When can I submit my Video?
The contest runs from February 8, 2010 through April 15, 2010. During this period you can send us your video's through 11:59pm EST on April 15th to qualify for the finals which will be announced on April 20th, 2010.
9) Can I submit more than one video?
You may enter the contest as many times as you'd like with different videos but only one per entrant will qualify for a finalist position.
10) Can I post my video to my personal YouTube Page or website?
No. All videos created using our copyrighted materials (provided for use in this contest) may NOT be uploaded to any video/media sharing website. Your submitted video will remain on Carly Simon's You Tube channel, so that you can continue to share it with anyone that you'd like to view it.
If you do not comply with these rules/regulations, a copyright infringement notice will be submitted with whatever video/media sharing site that contains the copyrighted material. Your video will removed, and your account may be terminated.
